Remember me

First of all, it's not like me to be posting something negative about one of my favourite actors back in the 80's and early 90's...yes...it's Corey Haim!  Come on...everyone loves The Lost Boys and License To Drive, his two best movies!  Plus he's from good old Toronto...just like me.

I know, it sucks that he got himself in so much trouble but I still believe in him.  You hear me Corey Haim?  I'm still waiting for your comeback career!

Anyways, here's something I found while surfin' the net.  It's Corey's video diary called "Me Myself And I".  If anyone knows where to find this video, please let me know!  Click on Haim and his bud Feldman below for the article.

What the hell is wrong with all of you!!??  What the hell is Fat Albert doing in 2nd place at the box office!!??  With so many better movies out there...crap like this become successful.  What about Lemony Snicket (well....it was a very close 3rd).  Or how about The Life Aquatic or The Aviator?  It was no surprise that Meet The Fockers was first but Fat Albert!!??

Shame on you!!

The next feature that I was going to start on January 3rd, 2005 has now been pushed to January 17th, 2005.  What does that mean?  I get two more weeks of vacation time, baby!

And what will I do during my time off, you ask?  Watch movies...what else!  Oh yeah, I can't forget about Halo 2!  Damn that game is addictive.

Aight...time for me to go and continue my vacation.

As Jim's final Tucows day has just past, mine approaches as well.  Next friday marks the final day for me on the current feature I was working on "A History Of Violence".  The movie is directed by David Cronenberg and stars Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, Ed Harris and William Hurt.

After friday, I get a much needed two weeks off for the holidays and on January 3rd I get right back into it on a new feature.

No rest for the wicked!

It's almost the end of the year and movie trailers for the year 2005 have been popping up everywhere.  Here's a quick list of my top 21 movie trailers:

21.  Son Of The Mask - sequel to The Mask.  Looks very cartoony but not as good as first.  New Line destroys yet another franchise just like Dumb And Dumber.

20.  Darkness - spooky horror movie starring Anna Paquin.  Looks like every other horror movie released in the past decade.

19.  Coach Carter - MTV basketball movie starring Samuel L. Jackson....nuff said.

18.  Bewitched - Remake starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell.  Could be good, could be bad.

17.  The Phantom Of The Opera - musicals are in but can Joel Schumacher pull it off?  Power to ya, Joel!

16.  Assault On Precint 13 - damn remakes!  Looks decent though.  Great cast including Laurence Fishburne, Ethan Hunt.

15.  Appleseed - animation looks amazing!  May end up being another Ghost In The Shell 2.  You never know.

14.  The Wedding Crashers - Story about 2 guys, Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson, crashing weddings for some honeys.

13.  XXX: State Of The Union - sequel to XXX but not with Vin Diesel.  This time Samuel L. Jackson gets Ice Cube!  Explosions ensue!

12.  The Amityville Horror - remake of a classic.  This time starring Ryan Reynolds.  Looks like a good one.

11.  Casshern - Japanese flick that looks incredible.  Was currently picked up by Dreamworks for release here in 2005.

10.  The Pacifier - Vin Diesel comedy.  No matter what people say, Vin is the man and this will be a hit!

9.  Dark Water - Jennifer Connelly being attacked by water.  Sounds like a perfect combo to me...water on Jennifer?  Wet shirt?  Scary!

8.  War Of The Worlds - Cruise.  Spielberg.  War.  Looks like ID4.

7.  Be Cool - sequel to Get Shorty.  Uma and John do a little dancing, Vince Vaughn thinks he's black and The Rock lays the smackdown!

6.  Charlie And The Chocolate Factory - Tim Burton's version of the original starring Johnny Depp.  Don't watch this trailer at night.  Creepy.

5.  Elektra - Jennifer Garner gets her spin-off movie and it looks damn good!

4.  The New World - interesting retelling of Pocahontas starring Colin Farrell.  Visually stunning.

3.  Constantine - Whoa!  Keanu knows demons.  The MTV exclusive trailer looks incredible.  It'll be one wild ride.

2.  Mr. & Mrs. Smith - Starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.  Directed by Doug Liman.  This movie is money baby!  It's money!

1.  Star Wars Episode 3: The Revenge Of The Sith - as if there was any doubt.  This better be worth the wait.

There you have it.  My top 21 list.  Go over to www.comingsoon.net to download all the trailers and enjoy.  Make sure to also check out a movie called Whore (or Yo Puta).  It didn't make the list but it stars Denise Richards and Daryl Hannah.  Apparently the movie is crap but the trailers are worth checking out...f$*ked up s#!t!!

I just discovered a movie I want to see: Robot Stories.  It's about Asian culture in North America (Eye.net has a good write up on the flick). I went to their website and found out that today is the last day for their Toronto screening!!  Ack!!!  Guess I'll just have to cut short my send Tucows Shoeless Joe bar send off...

[ Update (...about 20 minutes later) ]

*phew* I just called the Carlton Theatre and it turns out that the movie will be playing til next Thursday - longer than is listed on robotstories.net.  No need to rush and panic, I can take my time and relax... and then rush and panic next week.

I also want to see Primer, another film festival movie that sounds very interesting.  Anyone interested in seeing these with me?
