Not many people know who Scott Pilgrim is.  When I first heard about it, I had no clue either.  After doing a little research I realized it was a series of graphic novels created by Bryan Lee O'Malley who used to live in Toronto.

Scott Pilgrim is about a 23 year old who lives in Toronto, plays in a rock band and gets involved with a girl named Ramona Flowers.  There's a catch though...he has to fight Ramona's seven evil ex-boyfriends.  There's so much more that goes on in Scott's world but that's for you to discover by reading the books.  Today is the release of Volume 5 (there will be 6 in total) entitled Scott Pilgrim Vs. The Universe.

With all the attention these books have been getting, and the fact that they're awesome, Universal has picked up the series and it's currently in pre-production.  Michael Cera (Superbad, Arrested Development) has been cast to star as Scott Pilgrim and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Final Destination 3, Live Free Or Die Hard) will be Ramona Flowers.
