Babies everywhere! |
While in Toronto we were able to successfully bottle feed Cam ...well, when I say "we" really I mean "my mom." Sara, Cam, and I spent a lazy Sunday at my parents' house and my mom worked on bottle feeding Cam. Cam resisted at first and cried a bit, but as he was falling asleep my mom put the bottle in his mouth and he started to play with it and got used to it before falling asleep. Once he woke he started to drink from it, hesitantly at first but with more confidence and in the end he ended up gulping it down. The rest of our stay in Toronto we occasionally bottle fed him and he always accepted the bottle. This was a huge relief as we needed him to accept the bottle while at daycare.
Cam had his first boo-boo in Toronto: we were at lunch with my family and I was holding Cam on my lap facing the table. Cam had a cool new hat he got for Christmas and it wasn't sitting on his head properly, so I started to adjust the hat. I was only holding him with my hand on his side, not on his tummy, and he made a sudden move and fell forward. His head banged onto the table edge before I was able to stop him. You heard the thud of his head, then a loud "OH!!!" from everyone at the table and they all jumped out of their seats in reaction to Cam hitting his head. Cam started to cry a bit but actually did not react as strong as I expected - he really is a tough guy. He had a slight red mark on his eyebrow but it disappeared by the end of the day. I guess it wasn't a really bad accident, but boy did my heart explode when I saw/heard the thump of his head on the table edge.
Despite the conk on his head, he was in good spirits for the trip and he began to smile and laugh a lot.
Cam's laughter is the absolute best thing in the world. :)
