So, two pounds lost since last week, from only a half week of activity. If I'm to hit my target weight of 179 by the end of August, I'm going to have to lose 4 pounds a week. That's going to be a LOT of running and ZERO snacking over the next month... *gulp*

Back to normal working hours mid-week, so I was able to get in a couple good runs. Also, Sara's aunt and uncle from Taiwan were visiting through the weekend and it turns out they love the Wii - it was quite a full Wiikend of tennis and baseball so that was a little bonus exercise. Onto the weigh-in!

I am very saddened to say that I have been dealt a devastating blow to my Fat-off regiment.
I was finally getting into a wikked routine for the past couple of weeks. I was running 3x a week, an ultimate frisbee game, and a softball game as my week's activities. I also bought an armband for my Sansa Sandisk and a new pair of runners for more motivation. I *think* I am at 121 lbs right now as my scale is kinda unreliable. So not only was I seeing results, getting into a nice groove, but I was looking FLY! This wednesday at my softball game, playing second base, I went for a hard grounder and landed on my right leg, with my knees locked. A slight panick crept through my mind as I limped back to my second base position. When I got home, the pain got worse. I applied some "Tiger Balm" rip off brand, which didn't help me any and rested my sore knee. It is feeling a bit better and I tried to go for my run today but I had to downgrade to a walk with a slight limp, while Hunter looked at me as if to what's wrong with you today? (tears welling up, eyes getting blurry). I am so disappointed and not sure to do now. Running was my quickest and bestest way to keep fit given the time restraints that I have. I was also starting to enjoy it again. Now I am lost in this cruel, cruel world. What should I do? Any suggestions? Will a knee brace be sufficient for me to continue my regiment? I suppose I can swim, if I knew how. Or maybe bike ride...? I need some advice and direction. PLEASE! One more week until final weigh in! Plus, I can't let all this work go down the sh*thole! Ouch, Nic, that sounds pretty bad. Last time I messed up my knee, I tried to keep playing basketball and ended up causing even more damage. I would recommend you to stop straining your knee at this point - no sense risking permanent damage. However, I'm no professional; you should get it checked out by Henry, he may be able to suggest a knee brace that would let you continue exercising.
I weighed myself last night after a run, and it was very bad - 193 pounds!!!! How the heck have I gained so much weight??? It makes no sense. I think maybe Sara's right - our scale is faulty... Re: FatOff weigh-in #6

K, went for a run tonight, weight's back down to 191. Another good run before the weigh in and hopefully I'll be under 190.

So I went to Walmart this morning to look for a life jacket and I just so happened to visit the scale department as my scale is not very reliable. I hopped on and... drum roll please...
119.5 lbs!!!! I made my target!!! 3.5 lbs more and I'll be at my Nicole Richie target. Sigh... this being all said, I don't know what I am going to do about my bummed knee. I can't let this go to waste. I will try an hour bike ride today. Re: FatOff weigh-in #6

Woah woah woah hold your horses there missy - a weigh-in on some random scale in some random Walmart does NOT count as an official weigh-in - you gotta use the same scale you've been using all along.
And, um, why were you looking for a life jacket in Walmart in the first place? That sounds like an interesting story in itself... Re: Re: FatOff weigh-in #6

Haha.. ok fine. After Walmart, I did check out my scale at home to see how off it was. When I first hopped on the home scale, it read 118 lbs, but I have a process in place to get an "accurate" reading. I have to do a slight hop, which took my weight to a tick under 120 so, I would say the Walmart scale is about right.
I went on this morning and the first read was 119 lbs. With the slight hop, I was at 120 lbs, which is about right coz I went to the taste of Danfort yesterday... mmmm.... souvlaki. Either way, I am satisfied to say I made my target... even if you guys don't think so. Sorry, the life jacket hunt really isn't that exciting. The girls are going to the cottage end of this week for a week so I had to find a suitable life jacket for the girls.... but I did get Kaylas at 50% off so that's exciting! Re: FatOff weigh-in #6

After being absent for a few weeks from the weigh-in, I now know that I have no clue what I weigh. I have been eating better (I had souvlaki & fries though yesterday) and the occassional (VERY occassional) power walk. I keep forgetting to check since I don't have a scale and my parents do. Then again they're 2 houses away and I can easily walk there but it feels so far!! I'll wait for the final fat-off weigh-in week!

If a couple house walk seems far, I think it's safe to say you aren't going to be competing for the FatOff title. :)
Dude, go get Wii Fit and we can start FatOff 2. |
