With Guitar Hero: Aerosmith just days away of being released on all gaming systems, I noticed that the Nintendo DS released a little something called Guitar Hero: On Tour the other day.  Curiousity got the better of me and I headed to Best Buy last night to check it out.  It was totally sold out!  I did find a bundle package which came with the DS Lite console and I checked out the game.  It actually looked pretty cool.  You insert the DS game cartridge on one side and on the other you slide in the fret button controller that's provided with the game.  You then slip your hand into a strap, play the fret buttons with one hand and strum with the other (and the game comes with a pick).  I headed to Futureshop in search of this game and found it!  How was it?

Pretty fun.  Since it's for a portable system and they obviously couldn't make the attachment too big, I found that the fret buttons were a little too close to one another, especially if someone has big hands (luckily I have little fingers :) ).  I found that hitting the notes were fairly simple.  It's also got a nice little collection of songs on there from Nirvana to Jet to No Doubt and many others.  There's also multiplayer mode so two can compete.

It may not be as awesome as the Guitar Hero's we've come to know and love but it's a nice little gem if you feel like jammin' anywhere you go.  Check out the trailer by clicking here.
