Cam's first shopping cart ride

I'm en route to Jacksonville on business now, just touched down in Atlanta.

Sat beside a couple of rednecks on the flight - I heard "hoo-wee" at least 6 times during the flight, and as soon as we got off the flight: "Hoo-wee that's hot. That's HOTlanta right there boy!". And he said it very loudly to nobody in particular.

Anyways, I'm in Atlanta now, got a couple hours to kill til my next flight. First impression: there are NO Chinese people here. None. I've actually gotten a couple stares... from a black family of all people.

Jeez I hope Jacksonville's gonna be better.

Sara's off to LA for a few days for work, and Cam's staying with me.  Sara's dad is in town so that makes things easier.

Sara's been gone before, but it's been a long time since Cam has been without mommy and it was only for a night at a time.

Last night was the first night without Sara, and it started out fine, with Cam falling asleep with minimal fussiness.  I even mentioned to Sara's dad that it was way easier than I expected.

I had to go and open my mouth.

30 minutes later, Cam woke up. And cried... and cried... and cried.  And then cried some more.  No amount of soothing helped - he kept looking at the bed where Sara sleeps and frantically crying. Sheesh, what a momma's boy.

He ended up crying for an hour and a half before calming down enough for me to soothe him back to sleep.

After that it was pretty smooth sailing, with Cam falling back asleep within 15 min of waking everytime. There was one time where he wouldn't fall asleep for an hour, but he was only fussing during the hour, not really crying, so it was not so bad.

I expect Cam to go through another crying bout tonight without mommy, but hopefully it'll only be 30 minutes.

I'm coding too much on the laptop - RSI is flaring up and killing my
right wrist. I'm gonna try one-handed coding... and with my left
hand, at that.

This should be interesting.
Power outage in the condo this morning led to a nice candle lit breakfast.

Lucky for me Panera bread and their free wifi is only a couple blocks away...
Dropped Cam at daycare on Friday morning. He was fine.

Picked Cam up from daycare. He was sick.  Very sick. Wheezing, wet coughs, lots and lots of discomfort.

So he's not sleeping very well now, waking up every hour or so with coughs and cries. Spoke to the doctor and he said "these things usually last over a week... gonna be uncomfortable for you for awhile."

And it's not just the lack of sleep (though that's killer) - having to bounce the little fatty back to sleep every hour is totally killing my back, arms, and legs. I'm soooo sore this morning.
