So at the beginning of March, I spent a week in Maui... and what a week it was! It was definitely the most solidly packed vacation week I've ever had - up before the sun everyday and active right up til I fell into bed at night.
So what exactly did I do there? Well, let's see:
- Took in sunrise at an altitude of over 10,000 feet (that's over 3km!) on Mt. Haleakala
- Hiked the inside of a volcano crater - and almost didn't make it back out
- Drove along The Road to Hana - arguably the most beautiful drive in the world
- Swam in the Blue Pool - a beautiful waterfall pool hidden along the cost of Maui
- Explored Maui's West Mountain from mountain-top down to the coast - all on horseback
- Viewed Maui from the sky in a helicopter flight
- Swam with turtles and multitudes of tropical fish while
snorkelling in Turtle Town and Molokini crater - also saw lots of
dolphins during this trip.

- Tried some poi (some kind of nasty tasting taro-based paste) as well as a pig roasted in a sand-covered pit at an ocean side luau
- Went whale watching, where I missed a couple breaches - just kept looking in the wrong direction!!!
- Saw the MASSIVE and fairly creepy Banyan Tree in Lahaina
- and of course, hung out at the beach
