Synopsis:  On a normal day, everyday normal people are traveling with their cars through a commuter tunnel beneath the Hudson River between Manhattan and New Jersey.  Suddenly some idiots, who are on the run from hte police, head into the tunnel, they crash into some s**t and cause a huge explosion which seals both ends of the tunnel.  With no way out and the tunnel filling with water, Sylvester Stallone decides to enter the tunnel to save the few survivors.  Will he succeed?

You might be asking yourself, "if the tunnel is sealed on both ends with no way out...how the hell does Stallone get in there?"  Remember, it's Hollywood and there's always a way.  So now you have to be asking yourself, "since he got in that way...why the hell doesn't he use the same way to get out with the survivors?"  Again, it's Hollywood and there's always twists.  Plus, what kind of a movie would it be if he just walked in and out with the survivors?  You need some explosions, flooding, walls collapsing, rats (yes, I said rats) and of course Stallone fighting all of this off to save people he doesn't even know.

It may sound like I'm poking a lot of fun at this movie but all in all this is quite an enjoyable disaster flick.  Stallone just makes it better especially in one scene when he's yelling at the tunnel.  The flooding, the explosions and all the other effects look awesome.  And as they fight through this, it leads to a great climactic ending.

Joining Stallone for the ride in the tunnel is Amy Brenneman (Judging Amy, Heat), Viggo Mortensen (Lord Of The Rings) and Sage Stallone (Sylvester's son).  All of them did a decent job in their roles.

There's not much more to say about this film since there's not much of a plot.  It's a disaster movie!  They need to survive!  'Nuff said.  It's a fun movie nevertheless.  Stallone is in top form here and it's a shame his current offerings haven't come close to compare to this and his previous action flicks.

Did you know:  Sylvester Stallone and his son Sage also starred together in Rocky V.
