February 13th, 2005.  This was the day I began my mission...The Year Of The Crave.  My first stop was Little Caesars Pizza and here's my story...

I woke up Sunday morning and looked out my window.  The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky (well...a few).  I looked further to the left and noticed an ad for Dominos Pizza.  I started thinking to myself, "whatever happened to the good old days of Little Caesars...back when Dominos didn't exist in Toronto" (just so you know, when Dominos entered the picture here, Little Caesars slowly became extinct).

I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be great if I took a little road trip to a Little Caesars so that I can once again enjoy their delicious pizza and crazy bread?"  And that's when the madness began.  I searched for the closest location outside Toronto and found one in Richmond Hill.  I called up my friend, J-Mac, to see if he was in and he said "fo' sure!"  I grabbed my camera and we were on our way.

First stop was J-Mac's place.  I picked him up and we hit the road.  In about thirty minutes we found the location.  It was very small (nowhere to sit inside to eat) so we just ordered the food and brought it to the car.  The one thing that caught our eye when we approached the door was the Hot 'n' Ready special.  A 8-slice pizza for $5.  We were sold.  Along with that we also had to purchase an order of Crazy Bread.

We headed back to the car, opened the pizza box and dug in.  It was just as I remembered it.  This pizza was my favourite for years until it vanished and I was so pleased to have been able to try it again.  Then came the Crazy Bread.  I opened up the bag and the garlic smell just came pouring out.  I chowed down on that first piece and it brought a tear to my eye...I was in heaven.  As soon as we were done, I laid back in my seat with the biggest smile on my face until...

I turned to J-Mac and asked him, "so, what did you think?"  The words that came out of his mouth I will never forget...nor will I ever forgive him.  J-Mac responds, "I liked the pizza bread but Dominos Pizza is better."

"....."  I didn't know how to respond.  Then it came out.  "Dominos!!??  Are you f$%*ing mad!!??  Little Caesars is sooo much better!  Dominos doesn't even compare!"  J-Mac then says, "Oh please....oh and the Crazy Bread sucks too.  The Dominos cheezy bread is better."  At that point I was furious.  I yelled at him a little more, telling him in what ways Little Caesars beats Dominos but he stuck to his word.  For crying out loud...Crazy Bread was the original before other pizza chains here started coming out with their own cheezy, garlic or cinnamon breads!

Disappointed, I started the engine and we took off.  I don't think we said a word to one another for the rest of the trip back.  I dropped him off and headed back home.  When I arrived I thought to myself, "who cares what he thinks.  Little Caesars will always be my favourite pizza and nothing will ever replace the Crazy Bread."  I sat down with my tummy full and was happy yet again that I was able to enjoy Little Caesars Pizza one more time.
