Dude played WiiSports for 30 minutes a day for 6 weeks... and lost NINE pounds!!!
Only one question remains: will the purchase of a Wii be covered by your health insurance?

The Apple iPhone. Unveiled today at the Macworld Expo, this is the single most amazing device I have ever seen. Ever. I didn't think Apple would be able to have an innovative cell phone, as I had believed that cell phones had come along as far as they could. Boy was I wrong - Apple completely blew away my expectations in going far beyond what anyone could have imagined. This isn't just a next-generation phone - this is next-generation communication. Macworld Expo is just down the street from where I am now, and I was kicking myself for not going down there during the unveiling, but as I followed along online I was thankful I wasn't there - I would have been yelling and screaming like a schoolgirl at a Backstreet Boys concert. I was geeked out just reading about it on my laptop; I would have rendered a blubbering, sobbing mess when facing the iPhone in person. The Unofficial Apple Weblog has some first looks at the phone, while Engadget has extensive coverage of this and other product announcements at Macworld Expo. There's also a great article at Times.com about the genesis of the iPhone. Apple has also provided a streaming video of the iPhone introduction. Watch. And be awed.

"Can you... believe... what we... just... saw!!!"
What a finish.... too bad the Oilers couldn't seal the deal as they lost it in the shootout. Here's a longer video of the play, including slow mo replays and some vitriol from the announcer on Stefan blowing the empty netter.

There's a great post about the Winnipeg Jets at Off Wing Opinion.
Here's the youtube video that he attached to his post. He's linked to a couple others so be sure to visit his site to view the others. I had moved to Toronto by the time that happened, but I remember watching that report and I vividly recall Eddie O's promise to bring the Cup back to Winnipeg. In my mind, I knew that was a foolhardy promise and one not likely to be fulfilled, but boy, it sure was stirring to see and hear that back in high school. Here's another great youtube video that brings back memories of players I'll forever associate with the Jets: Bob Essensa, Fredrik Olausson, Phil Housley, Dale Hawerchuk, Thomas Steen, and of course, Teemu Selanne. It was awesome to see Teemu in his #13 Jets jersey again. I loved his rifle celebration upon breaking Mike Bossy's rookie goal scoring record. I'll have to bring down my Teemu figure next time I'm back in Toronto.

I love the bodycheck and stickwork. :)
Joe Thornton also has a commercial, though it's not quite as funny. |
