I ain't talking about this summer's movie.  This is the original movie in live action, baby:

I wish the camera work was a little better - we miss a lot of transformation sequences, like with Blaster calling out for help to Prime and Grimlock.   Prime looks pretty good, though.
I've been extremely busy at work lately and by the time I get home it's very late and I'm dog tired;  I haven't run in a week and a half and I didn't even do any pushups/situps last week.  I was not looking forward to this weigh-in.  Well, nothing can be done about it, here's the data:

  • Original weight: 189
  • Last week's weight: 189
  • This week's weight: 189

Hmmm... even with the lack of exercise, I didn't gain any weight.  Must be the stress keeping off the weight.  My project will be completed by the end of this week, so I'll be back to normal hours and hopefully can start losing exercising and losing weight again.  I'll have just over four weeks to hit my target weight of 182!!!
  • Jeanne and Gerry came up from San Jose to visit us on Saturday and we had a nice walk out to the nearby Ferry Building and not-so-nearby Fisherman's Wharf.  All told, we walked over six miles.  Sara did great!  I was surprised that she didn't need more breaks.  All the other times we've been out to Fisherman's Wharf it's been pretty cold, so I thought I'd be smart and wore jeans and long sleeve shirt, and even packed a sweater with me.  Of course it turns out to be amazing weather - it was the warmest weekend we've had... probably ever, here.  The sun was blazing; I got my first California sun burn (sheesh, it only took a year and a half).  I was wishing that I was in a tshirt and shorts for the entire walk but looking back it was actually not a bad thing considering I would have also been burned on my arms instead of just the back of my neck.  This weekend Sara and I plan to visit Napa and Santa Cruz - suntan lotion and hats will be on our packing list for those mini road trips.

On Sunday, we had an awesome Sunday brunch with a bunch of Sara's coworkers and friends, one of whom had an iPhone(!!!!!).  He let me play with it, and I was in heaven for a good 5 minutes.  After brunch, we went condo open house hopping.  We visited one condo which was totally amazing.  It was a two story loft-style condo and it was soooo spacious with a layout that utilized every single one of the available 1800 square feet.  It even had air conditioning, a true luxury in San Francisco.  Price: $1.15 million.  Believe it or not, I think that's a really good price for the unit, based on what we'd seen when we were shopping for our condo last year.  If I had a million or two lying around, I'd totally buy that condo.

Anyways, I've posted a couple new pics of Sara from the weekend.  New shots are from July 17 onwards.  The July 17 shot totally cracks me up everytime I look at it.  :)

In my industry, the term 'Web2.0' gets bandied about quite a bit.  Web 2.0 is supposed to be next generation of interaction on the internet and I've been hearing about it for what seems like years now, but really, what's changed?  You go to a website, you see information, you click, page reloads and new information is shown to you.  "Web2.0" was quickly becoming just a buzzword to me, with no real substance behind it.

Well, I've just come across a demo that utilizes Web2.0 technologies Ajax and Flex and it's pretty darn cool - it's a standard website with some calendar information, a blog article or two, a photo album, and a video to watch.  One big difference: you as the visitor to the site are treated like a virtual person visiting a virtual world.  And it's in 3D.

    Web 2.0, coming soon
Check it out: the future of web.
Posted a couple new pics of Sara.  Normally I'd wait to post a batch of new pics, but the two latest pics are too good not to share right away.  :)
I finally did it. I've sold out.   more »

    Simply ridonkulous

I finally hit up an Apple store on Sunday and checked out the iPhone.  In a word: ridonkulous.  It is sooooooooooo incredible - the image quality is stupendous, the touchscreen is superb, the build quality is fantastic, the UI is of course marvelous, and the look'n'feel of the iPhone itself is truly amazing.   (I'm running out of adjectives here...)  It is even better than I expected, and I expected a lot.

The iPhone is pricey at $600, and the monthly plan is off-the-charts expensive at a minimum of $60/month so I won't be getting one anytime soon, but I will be most definitely be drooling over it.
Weigh in results from Sunday July 15:

    Original weight: 189
    Last week's weigh in: 189
    Current weigh in: 189

    Status quo.

I actually had dropped down to 186 after a good run last week, but Sara and I went to a BBQ on Saturday and I pigged out on the ribs...and sausage...and cake...

Six more weeks to go, contestants!!!
Check out this Ebay mini-site that's auctioning props from the Transformers movie.  No actual Transformers for sale, though you can buy Bumblebee.

I loved the "Bee-otch" hanging from Bumblebee's rearview mirror, but $3500+ is waaaaay too much for an air freshener...  and who the heck is paying FORTY GRAND for the Allspark Cube?????

    Mini ED-209
Came across this cool cellphone that transforms into a mini ED-209 (hopefully you won't have to ask what an ED-209 is).  Follow the link for a kickass movie...
Weigh in results from Sunday July 8:

  • Original weight: 189  (188.8, to be exact)
  • Last week's weigh in: 192
  • Current weigh in: 188.8

So I'm back to my starting weight - I knew that mega run in Calgary was good for me.

So the strange thing is, I've actually not lost any weight.  However, I feel like I've lost weight, I sorta look like I've lost weight, and most significantly, pants that were previously tight on me now fit me well!!!  So I may not have lost any weight, but I've definitely lost some girth.
  • New pics of Sara posted, from May 1 right up to today (July 7).

Only 11 more weeks to go!
In a nutshell: seriously kickass robot movie, I loved it. Lots of annoyances though, some Transformer related, some not, and I've gotta rant.

    ** SPOILER ALERT **

I'm going to talk A LOT about what happens in the movie, so don't read this if you care to watch the movie.    more »

I'm planning on catching Transformers tonight and I just checked the showtimes from a local theatre:

Giant Screen Showtimes?  Giant Robots on a Giant Screen???  Awwww yeeeaaaaahhh!!!!!  7:25pm, baby, I'm there.

First week of the FatOff and I've been terrible - I only ran once, although I did do basic push-ups/sit-ups four times, and I've had some baaaad foods: cheesecake, ice cream, cookies, chips - and that was before I went on vacation!!  Up here in Bonnyville Alice and Randy have fed us very well - perogies with sour cream and bacon with sausage, lots of good beef jerky, snack foods galore, and last night's dinner was really awesome: Alberta tenderloin on the BBQ, and it was possibly the best steak I've ever had.  Corn and asparagus accompanied it, which is okay, but the dessert was decadent: caramel lava cake with ice cream.  Oh, and during the day we stopped at a Dairy Queen (for Sara's birthday treat) and I had the caramel Waffle Crisp Blizzard (really, really good) while Sara had a Brownie Earthquake... which of course I ended up eating a third of it.

    Anyways, here's the weigh-in data:

  • Initial weigh in: 189lbs
  • First week weigh in: 192lbs

So yes, I've actually gained weight instead of losing.  Today we're off to Calgary to visit Jenn and Steve.  I WILL run in Calgary.  I WILL!!!!!
