Cam's started to do this little squiggle dance thingy when he's happy:

And here's one of Cam laughing at Mommy's off-screen antics:

Toronto Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo sends scouts around the world looking for the next great basketball player.  One of his scouts informs him of a young Iraqi player who he thinks will turn out to be a true superstar. So Bryan flies to Iraq to watch him play, is suitably impressed, and arranges for him to come over to play in the NBA.

Two weeks later, Toronto is down by 15 at home against the Lakers with only 3 minutes to play. The coach sends the young Iraqi player into the game. The kid is a sensation, scoring 25 points in 3 minutes and wins the game for Toronto. The fans are delighted, the players are delighted and the media love the new star.

When he gets off the court, he phones his Mom to tell her about his first game in the NBA.  "Hi Mom, guess what?" he says. "We were down 15 but I scored 25 points in the last 3 minutes and we won. Everybody loves me; the fans, the players and the media, they all love me!"

"Great," says his Mom, "Now let me tell you about our day. Your Father got shot in the street, your sister and I were assaulted and mugged, and your brother has joined a gang of looters, while you were having a great time."

The young lad is very upset.  "What can I say, Mom? I'm sorry".

"Sorry!" says his Mom, "It's your damned fault that we moved to Toronto in the first place!"
I'm coding too much on the laptop - RSI is flaring up and killing my
right wrist. I'm gonna try one-handed coding... and with my left
hand, at that.

This should be interesting.
Power outage in the condo this morning led to a nice candle lit breakfast.

Lucky for me Panera bread and their free wifi is only a couple blocks away...
Dropped Cam at daycare on Friday morning. He was fine.

Picked Cam up from daycare. He was sick.  Very sick. Wheezing, wet coughs, lots and lots of discomfort.

So he's not sleeping very well now, waking up every hour or so with coughs and cries. Spoke to the doctor and he said "these things usually last over a week... gonna be uncomfortable for you for awhile."

And it's not just the lack of sleep (though that's killer) - having to bounce the little fatty back to sleep every hour is totally killing my back, arms, and legs. I'm soooo sore this morning.
Caught this poster for Tourism Canada on my train ride home the other day...   more »
Been awhile since I last posted (last night's post notwithstanding), so let's get caught up with the latest on Cam, as well as some new pictures.   more »
Cam goes to bed around 7pm, Sara hits the sack around 9:30, and I'm usually on the computer from 10 til 11:30 or so doing a bit of work (or blogging).

Cam usually wakes up around 10-10:30 crying and I go to pick him up and soothe him back to sleep.  This is pretty much the standard routine every night, but there are still nights when I go to pick him up that it feels special just to hold the little guy in the quiet of the night.

There's just no better feeling than having your baby fall asleep with his head against your shoulder.
A Guitar Hero playable mini-version, right here... Rock on Garth!
